New Moon and Full Moon Set Apart Day Dates
All Days Begin and End after sunset at twilight.
Twilight or Dusk occurs approximately 25 to 30 minutes after sunset except in extreme Northern and Southern regions of the Earth.
Sunset occurs when the leading edge of the Sun touches the horizon. There is approximately 30 minutes between sunset and twilight. |
Civil Twilight
(not sunset) |
The "The Beginning of Months" always occurs on the first Dark New Moon near the beginning of Spring. Specifically, when civil twilight evening equals civil twilight morning. Sunset is not an accurate measure of "Evening".
"Evening" . . . when light and dark are EVEN (equal). |
